About Me

My journey to becoming a therapist has been anything but linear, and I believe that’s made me a better one. I studied psychology at Southern Methodist University with the intention of becoming a therapist, but took an unexpected turn first. I spent years building a career in the arts, an experience that deepened my understanding of human creativity, vulnerability, empathy, and expression. These lessons continue to inform my work today.

While raising my children, I reflected about how I might return to professional life in a way that was purposeful and aligned with my values. Having benefited from the transformative power of therapy in my own life, I wanted to return to my goal of becoming a therapist. As I explored social work I immediately connected with the profession’s core values of respecting the dignity and worth of individuals, social justice, and the importance of human relationships. I earned my Masters of Social Work at the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work, serving in community mental health and addiction recovery before opening my private practice. I live in Norwalk, Connecticut with my husband, our two college-age kids, and our Miniature Schnauzer, Happy.
